Trial by Fire - Surrealism

This is my finished piece for our Surrealism project. I am super happy with it, though I could have used more care with some of the technical aspects. Lots of effort and time, but it is finished.

"Fairies"

Yeah yeah yeah they look like fairies. These are some concepts i worked up for my surrealism project. I took a LOT of pictures of my arms and cut them out of photos in PS to make this. The figure i got by taking a screencapture of a pose from http://www.posemaniacs.com and then making it into a silohuette. Lots of photomanipulation and color editing later, i got these three ideas. Now to make an actual background and pick one for the final piece.

Abstract art design

Don't even ask me how I cam eup with this one... I put my hands in a strange position while stretching and saw my hands like this and thought, "it'd be cool if lasers were shooting out." And lo, art was born.

Photographed my hand and brushed it into abstract-ness.

Scrapbook (Computer art)

For Computer Art class we had to make a scrapbook page that was based on a theme and involved us. I chose intellect and seeing as I was in the process of filling out my GATech application while in that class, I focused on the college more than anything.
None of the photos with me in them originally had me in them. I photoshopped myself out of pictures and managed to alter myself so looked naturally like a part of the scenes behind me.
Definitely time consuming to say the least.

Whoot for new things!

Greetings internetians! This is where I will be posting my art completed both in and out of school. Hopefully, I will be able to keep this blog up to date with project ideas, how well the project is going, and (of course) the final piece.
Now I just need some art to post.
